Lady Gaga earns fourth No. 1 album with ‘Joanne,’ scores massive record for the decade

It’s not unusual or even unexpected for a Lady Gaga album to break records, but this weekend she became the first female artist with four No. 1 albums this decade. 

Joanne was the second-largest album debut for a woman this year, according to Billboard, a title Gaga lost to Beyoncé (they round out the top four albums of 2016 with Drake and Frank Ocean). Though Gaga now has the most No. 1 albums of the Billboard Top 200 in the 2010s, it’s also because she’s released the most — both Queen Bey and Taylor Swift are trailing at three albums each.
