Alec Baldwin bid a poignant farewell to Trump on ‘Saturday Night Live’ finale


Alec Baldwin performed his now infamous Donald Trump impression for perhaps the final time on Saturday Night Live’s season finale, and it was as moving as it was hysterical. Well, depending on how you think this presidency is going to turn out. 

Baldwin’s Trump played a soulful piano version of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah,” a winking callback to the way Kate McKinnon’s Hillary Clinton handled the post-election episode in November.

But unlike Kate’s solitary Hillary, Trump was not alone in his sorrow. 

Out came Kate McKinnon as Kellyanne Conway, joined soon by Beck Bennett’s Mike Pence. Not to be missed are the Bobbsey Twins, Alex Moffat and Mikey Day as Eric Trump and Donald Jr., looking simultaneously douchey and bewildered, as always.  Read more…

Dwayne Johnson and Tom Hanks seem kinda serious about a White House run


When Dwayne Johnson told a journalist earlier this month that a run for president was “a real possibility,” there was a part of us that kinda … took it seriously? Why not, right? 

Well, start the countdown clock for 2020, because you’re going to love his choice for running mate.

Johnson, who’s hosting Saturday Night Live this weekend, took the stage, ostensibly to receive his “five timers” jacket from Alec Baldwin. “A lot of people have been telling me that I should run for president,” Johnson said, and then went right for it: “Starting tonight, I’m running for president of the United States.” Read more…
